Happy 4th of July

It was pretty hot in Lyon today, so to celebrate the birth of our homeland, George and I watched Transformers 2, shopped for flip flops, and ate fried ice cream with a sparkler on top--all indoor, air-conditioned activities.

Happy 4th everyone!

Hope y'all are doing well!

It's not really fried ice cream, it's a Norwegian Omelet!

We got it at Georges Brasserie down near Perrache. The food there is quite good, and you get pretty big servings, but the dessert itself was kinda meh.

Hello. If I may: where I'm from it's called Baked Alaska.

Best,

I had never seen or heard of a dessert like this before a friend of mine recommended me try it at this restaurant. Baked Alaska goes better with my 4th of July theme though, so I will call it that too :-)
